Hedge & Shrub Trimming in Charlotte, NC
This visit is for hedges and shrubs that can be reached from the ground. It shapes the plant, gathers the clippings, and stops at a height that does not require ladders, climbing, or a bucket truck.

Formal hedges and ordinary shrubs
A formal hedge is sheared so the sides and top read as one surface, slightly wider at the bottom so light reaches the lower leaves. A foundation shrub is usually pruned more selectively so it does not become a green box unless that is the look you already have and want to keep. Tell the quote which of those you are after. “Trim everything” produces a different day than “keep the hollies off the walk.”
Many flowering shrubs set next year’s buds soon after they bloom. Shearing those at the wrong week removes the flowers. If a plant just bloomed, say so. The visit can follow that timing instead of forcing every shrub onto the same day.
Lawn mowing is not this visit
Mowing and edging the grass are lawn mowing. This page is the hedge and the shrub.
What is included
- Trimming hedges and shrubs named in the quote.
- Cleaning clippings off the lawn, beds, and walks.
- Hauling clippings away when the quote includes haul-away.
What is not included
Large tree removal, elevated work, and anything that needs a climber are outside this service. A tall screen that cannot be reached safely from the ground should be declined rather than stretched. Bed weeding can be added as garden maintenance if you want it the same day.
The shrubs you want kept
Foundation shrubs and formal hedges are garden work. Say which look you want so the cut is not guessed.
How often
Fast growers in a Charlotte summer may want two or three trims in a season. A slow shrub may need one. The plant, not a package, sets the interval.

Questions
Questions about hedge trimming
Will you shape shrubs into a flat hedge?
Yes, if that is the existing form or the form you ask for. Shrubs that are meant to stay natural are pruned more lightly.
Do you trim tall trees?
No. Work stays at a height reachable from the ground. Tree climbing and large removals are not offered.
Are the clippings taken away?
They are taken away when the quote says so. A trim that leaves bagged clippings for you is a smaller scope and should be requested that way.
Can this be combined with mulch?
Yes. Trimming first, then mulch, keeps fresh material from being covered in cuttings. List both in the message.
